I had to stay at a hotel for an extended period of time and decided to try the Hawthorne out. Now if you are looking for a fancy, luxurious hotel where they come tap on your door everyday to clean your room and replace your towels… then I don’t recommend this hotel. But if you are trying to find a place to stay (especially for more than a day or two) with a full kitchen (fridge, stove, oven, microwave) where no one comes to bother you all the time and is super reasonable on the price then the Hawthorne is for you! And they are pet-friendly which is a huge plus for me!

I checked in about 3pm and told the clerk I was there due to my brother dying and I didn’t want to keep driving back and forth, so I never actually went to the room until about 10pm when we returned from my mom’s house and feeding our livestock, however the room was filthy. The one trash can in the room didn’t have a bag and had nasty trash in it, there was no pots or dishes, the floor had trash on it and never seen a mop, there was only one wash cloth, shower curtain was moldy, 2 floor towels and a hand towel for 2 people. The toilet still had used tissue in it and when I tried to flush it, it was stopped up. When my husband went to the office since the phone wouldn’t work the clerk acted as if we were lying about the room not being cleaned or not having towels. He wanted to know why we were just saying something from 3-10. My husband tried to explain that when I checked in I never came to the room (my mom and I had things to do in preparation for funeral), I then picked him up from work (we don’t live down here but he still works down here), we went to feed our livestock and hence the 10pm room entrance and trip to office. Our room wasn’t changed, the very nice maintenance man plunged the toilet, dumped the toilet, and apologized (not his fault). When we got ready to go to bed it only had a sheet no other blankets😒 Very bad experience this time around and we won’t be back. 😡Do not waste money here!

I’m a frequent motel traveler. I have no problem staying in cheap digs. This is actually the worst place I’ve ever stayed at. The parking lots are covered in trash, my non-smoking room smelled like weed, there were men drinking and milling about the parking lots and on the steps of the rooms at night. As a single female traveler, I felt extremely unsafe, especially since the bolt on my door was broken. The room could be nice, but hasn’t been cleaned in years, probably. There was no soap in the room— no bar soap, no dish soap for the kitchen, no hand soap— and the manager had the gall to tell me that was because of COVID. That makes no sense. The beautiful fireplace has a sign saying you’ll be evicted and charged $500 for turning it on. No housekeeping or breakfast, also because of COVID, even though the Days Inn I stayed at earlier in the week in the same area with the same owner (Wyndham) was serving breakfast and had housekeeping. There were bugs in my room, the coffee pot was sticky, and the kitchen doesn’t have a single dish in it, not even a plastic fork. The towels are so cheap and threadbare you can see through them. Saw the cops driving through the place 3 times on my 2 night stay. One of the times they were actually taking a statement. DO NOT STAY HERE. Not worth $5.

Omg I must warn any and everyone do not waste your time. This motel (not hotel) needs to be shut down, investigated and fumigated. I went against my first instinct when I booked this room. My first room had brown and black sheets that seemed to not be washed the top covers were even worse. The pillows looks as if they had been stepped on with muddy boots. When I told the manager she explained to me that all of the sheets would look this way and they are just stained. The sink in the kitchen area smelled of rotten meat and the putrid odor was unbearable. She attempted to swap me to another room and upon entering I saw the sheets had old blood all over them. I was beyond disgusted and to make matters worse after requesting a refund they still charged my card. They refused to provide upper management contact. I must say do not fall for the cheaper rate bc it’s definitely a slum motel. It may be suitable for druggies or women of the night but definitely uninhabitable for normal logical people. They deserve negative stars

I usually don't do bad reviews but this hotel is not worth spending your money with. We came in from North Carolina and paid online. Usually we pay deposits through the mobile app or it will give you a heads up about the fee. We got there and had to pay an additional 75$, 25$ for early check in witch is understandable, BUT the room was so dirty yall, and a 50$ deposit. witch had to be paid by card or else it would be more. I travel often, at this point most places have breakfast back up and going they have that advertised but it's not provided, if known I wouldn't even spend money on this! It's nothing like the pictures! I added my pictures! I had to use my own blanket and linen I felt so nasty. The room is non smoking but smelled like cigarettes soon as you open the door!? And a man walked in? We made the best for the night because it's no refund!
